Plan a careful move from a job spreadsheet to a connected field-service workflow, while keeping original records and avoiding duplicate accounting entries.

Separate working jobs from accounting history.
List the current appointments, open quotes and unfinished work you need day to day. Keep a copy of your original spreadsheet. An existing Wave or QuickBooks invoice is not a reason to create a second invoice during migration.
Check the supported format before importing.
A spreadsheet and a FieldOpsX backup are different formats. Confirm the available import path with support, identify duplicates, and review customer names, addresses, dates and document numbers before importing historical records. Do not assume every workbook can be imported directly.
Start with a small, verifiable batch.
Review the job and its related document after migration. Confirm cash/manual records stay separate from provider-posted records and that totals and tax amounts remain intact. Keep the source until the imported results have been checked.
Make the new routine simple.
Schedule a real appointment, complete the visit, create its document, add a job expense and check the accounting status. Learn that full workflow before moving all historical data.
Make a short migration checklist.
For each record you want to move, identify the customer, service address, appointment date, work description and any existing invoice number. Mark whether the work is open, completed or already paid. Keep missing details visible instead of guessing dates, amounts or payment history.
Reconcile one complete job.
Choose a job you know well. Compare its customer, service details, invoice total and payment against the original sources. If there is a supplier purchase, check that it belongs to that job and that the receipt totals are intact. Resolve any mismatch before repeating the process for the rest of the records.
